The OAUG’s Upgrade Special Interest Group (Upgrade SIG) focuses on issues relating to upgrading Oracle Applications from Release 10.7 and 11.0.x to 11i.
These issues include technology stack requirements, performance techniques, various upgrade tools, specific platform related information as well as
current Oracle announcements on de-support and availability issues. The group provides a special problem-solving forum for those involved in the
complexity of upgrading their applications. The Upgrade SIG meets bi-annually at the OAUG and/or AppsWorld conferences.

Please refer to MetaLink Note 290211.1 for the latest information on Oracle 8i desupport with Release 11i Applications.
Full Error Correction Support (ECS) for Oracle8i ends after December 31, 2004. Oracle is recommending any E-Business Suite 11i customer that is currently running on the Oracle8i database should have a plan in place to upgrade to Oracle9iR2 before the end of the year to ensure that they are running a fully supported configuration.
My business cycle will not allow me to upgrade the E-Business Suite version before December 31, 2004. Will I continue to be supported?
Oracle will provide a grace period of seven months beyond the end of database Error Correction Support for you to upgrade to E-Business Suite Release 11.5.9 or 11.5.10 and a supported database version. You will continue to be entitled to error correction for existing functionality in the E-Business Suite, and to database patches until July 31, 2005. However, as of January 1, 2005, Release 11.5.6 and earlier will no longer be tested or certified. You should adopt a plan to upgrade as soon as possible.
The 10.7 De-Support Focus Group is a a sub-committee of the
